Biography

Elizabeth, last name at birth unknown, married John Baisey/Baysey, son of John.[1] She was born about 1620, no location designated. Elizabeth (Unknown) Baisey died at Hartford before 3 Dec 1673 (date of inventory). Her will was recorded 15 Dec 1673. She mentions their three daughters, Mary Burr, Lydia Baker, and Elizabeth Peck, by their married names in her will, indicating they all were married prior to her death. She was made executrix of her husband's estate - he died in August of 1671.[1]

From Early Connecticut Probate Records: It was proved on December 15, 1673. In her will she left her daughter, Elizabeth Peck, two coats, one that was her husband's cloak, and her cow, for her care for her in her sickness; the remainder she gave her three daughters, Mary Burr, Lydia Baker and Elizabeth Peck. The inventory was dated Dec. 13, 1673.

I Elizabeth Bayse, being by the Providence of god very wecke but of sound understanding, do make this my last will & testament: I do give to my daughter Elizabeth Peck my 2 Cushions that was my husband's, in Consideration of her Care & Trouble of me in my sickness. The rest of my Estate I give to my three daughters, Mary Burr, Lydia Baker and Elizabeth Peck, equally to be divided amongst them.

There are no sources to indicate exact date of birth/location. There are no credible sources [not someone's family tree] to indicate Elizabeth's maiden name as Freeman. Asking that you remove the name Freeman and change to Unknown. The name Freeman is being perpetuated on other Internet family tree sites without merit. This is something WikiTree needs to be aware of.

Are there any sources for her place of birth? I looked through all of them, but didn't find it.

What indicates she was born in England? If there is a marriage for John and her there, or anything tying her birth to England?

Freeman-3031 and Unknown-541856 appear to represent the same person because: No sources found to support Freeman as last name. Quality sources on profile show her last name was unknown. Please merge to Unknown.

Question: In the biography notes, Elizabeth's last name unknown. Is there a reason that the name 'Freeman' is entered as her maiden name? I cannot find anything substantial where her maiden name is given. Thanks for looking.
