On the 14th Oct 1839 William was granted a Ticket of Leave Passport to proceed to Liverpool Plains of New England in the service of Mr Peter McIntyre for 12 months. On the 16th Oct 1840 this was extended for another 12 months.
On the 12th Jan 1839 William requested permission to marry Catherine McLennan
(McLellan). This was granted on the 2nd of Mar 1839.
