Elizabeth Freeman was born, April 19, 1694, the daughter of Samuel and Bathshua Freeman of Eastham, Barnstable, Massachusetts Bay.[1]
Disputed marriage
Although the Freeman Genealogy provides that she married Isaac Pepper, Jr. on Feb. 21, 1716-17,[2][3] it is shown that Isaac's wife was instead Elizabeth, the daughter of Edmund Freeman, as Edmund named his daughter "Elizabeth Pepper" in his will.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Elizabeth by comparing test results with other carriers of her ancestors' mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Elizabeth:
We have conflicting information about the wife of Isaac Pepper. It appears that the "silver book" on William Brewster gives his wife as Edmund and Sarah (Mayo) Freeman. And that the Freeman genealogy gives her parents as Samuel and Bathsua (Lothrop) Freeman.
I think it would be wise to check the Silver book for the source information to see why they give Edmund Freeman as her father.
In Edmund Freeman's will which was settled on 12 February 1718/9, his daughters are listed by their married names. Elizabeth is called, "Elizabeth Pepper." The citation is "Barnstable Co., Mass., Probate, 3:450, 503 [Edmund Freeman]; MD, 8:67-68." (Brewster Silver, 2014, Part 1, Page 292)
In Elizabeth's Silver Book profile it says that she married Isaac Pepper, son of Isaac and Apphia (Freeman) Pepper. The citation is "MD 5:196." (Brewster Silver, 2019, Part 3, Page 53)
I'll make the corrections. Perhaps the PM would like to further the research on Elizabeth?
