Biography

Pvt Spencer Freeman served in the United States Civil War.

Spencer was born in 1831. He was the son of Johnson Freeman and Esther Traywick. In 1850, the family was living in Jackson County, Georgia.[1]

He married Sarah Hayes in 1854 in Jackson County, Georgia.[2] In 1860, he and wife, Sarah, and 3 children were living in Jackson County, Georgia. His occupation was listed as overseer on the census.[3]

Spencer enlisted in the Company G, 16th Georgia Infantry as a private . He passed away in 1862 while serving in the Civil War.

Spencer is listed in the death record for his son, George, in 1928.[4]
