David Emanuel was the probable husband of Priscilla Freeman, daughter of John and Christine Freeman. David left Burke County and moved further south into Screven County settling close to the Freemans and Kemps. Priscilla Freeman was of an appropriate age to be his first spouse, and she disappears from the records. This proximity is the reason to assert Priscilla Freeman was the first wife. Levi John Emanuel being somewhat older than his siblings also suggests he was the only child of this marriage.
Priscilla died young, and with no other known children, it is possible she died from childbirth complications, or certainly deceased by 1804. David would have married Rebecca Caswell around 1804, as son Caswell Emanuel was born in 1805.
