Sarah Freemantle, daughter of John Carr Freemantle, ^[1] was born in about 1837 in Bishops Sutton, Hampshire. ^{[2] [3]} She married Thomas Ball on 17 September 1864 in Bishops Sutton, Hampshire. ^[1]

On 3 April 1881 at 7 Lower Brooks, Winchester St Maurice, Hampshire, with her husband Thos Ball and their children Herbert Ball aged 11, Bertha Kathleen Ball aged 6 and John Roland Ball aged 3. ^[3]
