Biography

Agnes Freke was born about 1650 the daughter of Arthur Freke landed gentry. of Blandford Forum, Dorset, England who moved to Rathbarry, County Cork, Ireland,and Dorothy Woodhull Symth, the daughter of Richard Smyth of Youghal and a relative of the Earl of Cork.

Agnes Freke was one of five siblings:

1. Percy Freke who probably died young.
2. Elizabeth Freke
3. Percy Freke who married his cousin Elizabeth Freke, and whose son Sir Ralph Freke was entitled First Baronet of Bilney, Norfolk, and Rathbarry.
4. Agnes Freke who married Patrick Crossby, of County Kerry about 1670, and had children.
5. Mary Freke who married Mr. Berhard.

Agnes Freke married in about 1670 to Patrick Crossby, who was born in 1635 in Ardfet, County Kerry.

Agnes Freke and Patrick Crosbie had children:

1. Agnes Crosbie, born about 1670, who married Edward Herbert and had at least two children in County Kerry, Ireland.
2. Margaret Crosbie who married John Blennerhassett, MP, was widowed and then in 1714 to Daivd John Barry, grandson of David Barry, First Earl of Barrymore, who sold Rathbarry House in Rathbarry, County Cork, ireland to Arthur Freke in 1641. Margaret passed away in 1745.

6. Maurice Crosbie ,
7. Arthur Crosbie

Agnes Freke lost her husband Patrick Crosbie on December 23, 1713.

Agnes Freke passed away.
