Biography
Charles Murdoch French was born about 1917. He was the son of Charles French and Jessie Trail Murdoch.
Charles served in the 5th Royal Tank Regiment during World War II. 5RTR was part of the 22nd Armoured Brigade, which in turn was part of the 7th Armoured Division "Desert Rats". Charles died on 3 August 1944, probably during Operation Bluecoat.[1] He was buried at Hottot-les-Bagues War Cemetery, Hottot-les-Bagues, Departement du Calvados, Basse-Normandie, France.[2]
