Biography

He was twice elected to the Legislature of Massachusetts.

His son, E. A. French, made a copy of these events; was a member of the Fifth Unattached Co. Mass. Vol. Militia.

Married Abbie Allen on 17 April 1831[1][2]

In the 1860 census Job (age 54), Boot & Shoe Dealer, was in Fall River Ward 4, Bristol, Massachusetts.[3] Children: Sarah (20), Edward (17), Abby (14), Julia (10)

Children were:

  • Mary Elizabeth, married D. Hartwell Dyer
  • Jane R (1836-1856)
  • Sarah J, married WIlliam Lindsey
  • Edward A. married Eliza Ricketson
  • Abby H.
  • Julia W.

Job died (age 88) on 13 May 1894 in Fall River, Massachusetts, United States.[4]

Grandson, William Allen Dyer, applied to the Sons of the American Revolution. His patriot ancestor was Benjamin Church.[5] The line of descent described is:
