Biography

This Andrew French, born about 1707 in Stratham, New Hampshire, was a son of Abigail (Wiggin; 1678-1748) and William French (1673-1764). He passed away either 12 Nov 1779 or after 14 Apr 1783 .

He married Abigail Marston (b. about 1710). Their children included:

• Andrew French (1735-1779); married Anna Williams
• Elisha French (1748-1805); married Elizabeth Foss

Notes

Death data for this Andrew French and his son Andrew French are highly coincidental, with the father ostensibly dying on 12 November and his son, dying on 13 November, 1779. Neither date is supported with source referencing, so they should be considered speculative.

The key to sorting out which Andrew French was the subject of the 1780 probate action is the named son Elijah. Care should be observed not to confuse Elijah French (1758-) with his uncle Elisha French (1748-1805).
