On 2 March 1773, the widow Phebe asked for the right of dower from his estate.[2]
His will is dated 11 July 1772 and proved on 13 August 1772 in Fairfield. He mentions his wife Phebe and her "Mother Morris", his son Thomas Curtiss French, his daughter, Mary Morris French, his son Gershom Wells French, his son John Summers French, and his brother Samuel French.[3]
The widow Phebe's distribution was recorded on 5 May 1773.[4]
