Biography

Moses was born in 1791. He passed away in 1874.

  • Fact: Burial (1874) , Jefferson, Tennessee, United States of America

Son of Lafford French and one of Lafford's wives, either Jane Moore or Hester Feamster. Not much is known about Hester. Jane is the daughter of Irish immigrants Joseph Moore and Catherine Chadwick.

Husband of Sarah Elder, b. abt. 1794

Sons of Moses and Sarah are James Randall, William A, Joseph, Moses Jr, Charles Martin, and Lafford.

Daughters are Elizabeth (m. Shadrack Maynard), Barsheba (m. Granville Newman), and Martha (m. Luke Alderson).

Not certain that Moses is in the French Cemetery so I welcome edit suggestions to update this information. His oldest son, James Randall, died a few years before Moses so it seems logical that he would have been put to rest near his son since they lived in the same region.

See Biography - unsure of the mother. I have searched Familysearch.org, and it is reported that Jane Moore is the mother (2nd wife), however, at this point I am not confident in adding as mother to the profile (and creating the additional profile)
