Eve was probably the second oldest (after Elizabeth) daughter of Johannes and Maria Eva Froschauer (John and Eve Freshour). She was born about 1771 in Pennsylvania.
Eve was named first in John's will when he stated that he wished the remaining money from his estate to be divided equally amongst all his children. [1]
Gravestones in the Solomon Lutheran Church Cemetery in Cove Creek, Greene County, Tennessee, show that Eve died 10 Feb 11828 at the age of 57 years and that her husband Andrew Stevens died 17 July 1830 aged 66 [2]
Several of their children were also buried in this cemetery. This we know that Eve was born either in 1770 (after Feb 28) or 1771 (before Feb 28). While one researcher has recorded that her birthdate was 10 Feb 1771, this is almost certainly a mistake taken accidentally from the date of death. Others have automatically deducted the age from the Feb 1828 death date and deduced that she was born in 1771. However, considering the number of possibly birth months in 1770 and those in 1771, I think it more likely that she was born in 1770. In any case, from John Freshour's will we do have proof that Eve was John and Eve's daughter and the she med and married Andrew Stephens even though no birth or marriage records exist.
Eve married Andrew STEPHENS. Andrew was born about 1764. He died on 17 Jul 1830.[3] They had the following children:
