Most researchers assumed that he was the son of the first John Freshour who came to Tennessee in 1790's. But this family had a son named John born in 1763. Most likely he is a son of Jacob. He seems to have come to Tennessee at or near the same time. He always lived in the same neighborhood. Many of his descendants still live in the same community. He probably stayed in Greene County when his father left because he had already married, Magdaline Peters, and had ties to her family. In later years her parents lived with John and Magdalina. This John traded with the Indians and the Cherokees names him "Chucklehead" because he laughed so much. St James Church: Johannes Froschauer and his wife Magdalena, a son was born the 28 of March 1814 and baptized the 7th of August 1814 and named Jacob. Baptismal sponsors were Joseph Winters and his wife Catherina.
