1850 census still needs further DETAIL analysis: 1850 census 4yo Henry W "Fry", 1yo Sarah Ann, 28yo father David the shoe maker and 29yo mother Sarah.

1856 needs further DETAIL analysis: 1856 census Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa: 9yo Henry W Frey, & sis 7yo Sarah A Frey, with 34yo (shoe maker) father David E. Frey and 35yo mother Sarah. Living next door to another shoe maker, John Weaver.

1860 needs further DETAIL analysis: 1860 census in Oskaloosa, Mahaska County, Iowa: 14yo Henry W "Fry", 12yo sis Sarah A "Fry", father David E Fry (38yo) and (31yo??) mother Sarah. John Weaver no longer living next door.

1895 census Needs DETAIL: 1895census from Clay, Reno Co, Kansas on Mar 01: doesn't ask marriage questions, but shows HW Frey (48yo) and Carrie Frey (41yo) with Arthuer Frey (13yo), Dale Frey (11yo), Geo Frey (7yo), Lewis Frey (5yo), Anna Gopp (13yo) and Ernest Gopp (10yo). HW born in Pennsylvania, Carrie, Arthuer, and Dale born in Iowa, Geo and Lewis born in Kansas, and the Gopp children were born in Colorado. Census indicated Carrie came from Iowa to Kansas.

1900 census: 1900census in Center, Jewell, Kansas on Jun 22: indicates 52yo "Farmer" Henry W. Frey (b.May 1848) owned land free of mortgage - #89 on farm schedule. 46yo wife Carrie (Mar 1854) is mother of 7 children, 6 of whom are still alive. They have been married 26yrs. 1900 census gives middle initials for children as Arthur W (Jul 1881 in Iowa), Dale M (b.Nov 1883 in Iowa & tho 16yo is still going to school), George W (b.Jan 1888 in Kansas), Lewis H (b.Mar 1890 in Kansas), and adds a dau Elsie M Frey (b.May 1895 in Kansas). Also living with them is niece Ettie L Conant (19yo b.Jan 1881 in Iowa w/ pa b.NY & ma b.Iowa) and mother Sarah Frey (79yo widow who has birthed 2 children both of whom are alive in 1900 was b.Nov 1820 in Penns w/both parents born in Penns, ). This census indicates that Mother Sarah can speak & read English, but cannot write English. (This is consistent with several other census results). 18yo (single) son, Arthur W Frey (b.July 1881 in Iowa) is listed as volunteer soldier in 1900 US Census from Kansas. Henry & both his parents were born in Penns. Carrie was born in Iowa. Her father was born in Illinois, & mother in Virginia. Both Henry & Carrie can speak, read, & write English. This census page is made of entirely of farming families. No supplementary pgs on census.

1905 needs further DETIAL analysis: Needs DETAIL: 1905 census from Center, Jewell County, Kansas: Lewis spelled Louis, only Henry's initials are on census form and Caroline is spelled Carrie.

Find-a-Grave: Henry W Frey buried Mount Hope Cemetery, Mankato, Jewell County, Kansas. Thanks to TLC for memorial# 44275380. We don't know whether dob/dod were on the stone or in cemetery records.
