St. Mary's Catholic Church was the scene of a beautiful and solemn nuptial service Monday morning, when at the hour of 8 o'clock, Leona M. Schubert became the bride of Harold Frey of Delvan.[5]

Services for Harold A. Frey, 56, of 6601 N. Big Hollow Road, Peoria, who died at 6:45 a.m., Friday, at St. Francis hospital, were held at 9 a.m., Monday, at Wright & Salmon Mortuary and at 9:30 a.m. at Holy Family church, Peoria. The Rev. Walter Buche officiated, and burial was in Calvary cemetery, Henry. Visitation was after 3 p.m., Sunday, at the mortuary, with recitation of the rosary there at 8 p.m. Mr. Frey, who had been ill for a year and a patient at St. Francis hospital since Dec. 13, was born May 28, 1909, in Henry, a son of Joseph and Minnie Maubach Frey. He married Leona M. Schubert on Henry on April 2, 1934, ans she survives. He was a meat cutter at Ben Schwartz Food Market on McClure avenue for the past ten years, last working in April. He had formerly owned and operated Frey's Market in the 2600 block Sheridan Road. Mr. Fred [Frey] was also a member of the Amalgamated meat Cutters Union No. 543, and of the Holy Family Catholic Church. Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, a sister, Mrs. Harold Rickey (Evelyn) Rickey of Princeville; two brothers, Eugene of Hillsdale and Joseph of the Tri-cities, Iowa; and three grandchildren. One sister preceded him in death.
