Thomas Frick, recorded as Johann Thomas Frick, was born 10 July 1712 in Erpfingen, Germany. He was the son of Johann Thomas Frick and Agnes, née Walter. He married Anna Catharina Batzer.[1][2] The family of Thomas Frick arrived in South Carolina on the "Priscilla" in 1752. In 1754 he petitioned for bounty land with wife and 3 children: Agnes 18; Thomas 10 and Hans Jacob 3. Thomas Frick was awarded a 250 acre bounty grant on waters of Camping Creek near present day St. Peter's (Piney Woods) Church.
A comment on page 124D of "Catalogue of Early Land Records" for the Dutch Fork area, states "presumably in inherited by oldest son, Thomas." The comment is referring to the 250 acres originally granted to Thomas Senior.
Thomas Frick died without leaving a will.
FindAGrave shows a memorial stone that reads "Home site of Thomas Frick I (ca 1717–1814) and his wife Mary Rittheimer ancestors of of Fricks in South Carolina established here in 1755".[3] It claims his birth date was 12 Jul 1712, and that he died in 1814. It lists under children Thomas's son, Johann "Thomas" Frick II (24 Aug 1743 - 1829), whose wife was Anna "Mary" Rittheimer. His biography there cites the Dutch Fork Chapter Genealogical Society.[1]
