Samuel Frickleton was born about 1851 in Scotland.

Samuel married Elizabeth Logan unknown (c1857 Scotland-1941 New Zealand ^[1]) before 1889. ^[2] The 1891 Census records the family living at Slamannan, Stirlingshire with seven children and the 1901 Census at Bannockburn, Stirlingshire with an additional three children.

Aged 62 years, he passed away in 1913 in St Ninian's, Stirlingshire. ^[3]

Following his death, Samuel's widow and several of their children migrated to New Zealand.
