Biography

Henry Friedley was born in Clark County, Indiana, the son of Daniel Friedley and Rebecca Heistand.[1]

In 1850, Henry, Sophia. and Sarah K. Friedley were living in Boone County, Iowa, with Lilliam L. Defore, his wife Rachel and daughter Julian.[2]

Mary D. Coe and Henry Friedley were married on 26 Aug 1858 in Boone Counrty, Iowa,[3] Based on Us Census and other records, they had at least the following children:

  • John S. Friedley, b. Feb 1860; m. Emma C. Albright 1 May 1884 Boone County, Iowa[4]
  • Florence May Friedley, b. ca. 1867; m. John Bell Condon 30 Nov 1882 Boone County, Iowa[5]
  • Clara Friedley, b. ca. 1867; m. John A. Peterson 4 Sept 1889 Boone County, Iowa[6]
  • William Edward (Edgar?) Friedley, b. ca. 1869; m. Lavina Smith 11 April 1889 Boone County, Iowa; [7]; as Edward, m. Alvina Adix 06 Jan 1925 Des Moines, Polk, Iowa[8]
  • Mary Iva Friedley, b. ca. 1875; m. Charles Thomas Bark (Burk) 25 Dec 1894 Boone County, Iowa[9]

NOTE: The child below could be the same person as William Edward. The record shows that he has the same parents, but this marriage is just 1 month after William Edward's marriage to Lavina Smith.

  • W. S., b. ca. 1868; m. Irene Pollard 15 May 1889 Boone County, Iowa[10]

In 1870, Henry Friedley, a farmer, lived in Dodge Township, Boone County, Iowa, with his wife Mary and 4 children.[11]

In 1880, Henry Friedley, a farmer, lived in Dodge Township, Boone, Iowa, with his wife Mary and 4 children.[12]

In 1900, Henry, a widowed nurseryman, lived in Dodge Township, Boone, Iowa, with 3 other Friedleys.[13]

In 1910, Henry Friedley, was living with the family of son John S. Friedley, a fruit farmer, in Puyallup, Pierce, Washington..[14]

Henry Friedley died on 4 Dec 1913 at Puyallup, Tacoma, Pierce, Washington. He was 79 years old. His death record shows that he was the son of Jacob Friedley.[15] He is buried at the Mineral Ridge Cemetery, Ridgeport, Boone County, Iowa.[1] You can see a picture of the gravestone he shares with wife Mary D. at FindAGrave
