Biography

Joseph Friend, was born about 1775, some suggest in Ireland. He married Elon Matteson on 2 May 1803 at Surry, North Carolina.[1][2] Joseph Friend is on the United States Census, 1840 for Washington, Illinois, United States.[3]

Friend-1320 and Friend-1155 are not ready to be merged because: I have no substantial evidence to say definitively where and to whom Joseph Friend was born. Until we learn this unequivocally, I'm hesitant to merge the two profiles, making his parents John and Kerren. Please know, I'm not trying to be difficult. I purposefully left off the profile his place of birth and his parents. It's a major Brick Wall for me.
