Biography
Clara (Friend) Davidson was born in Westerham, Kent, England.
Clara Eliza Friend was born in 1869 in Westerham, Sevenoaks, Kent, England.[1] She was the daughter of Samuel Friend and Harriet Drew.
At age 2 in 1871 she and her parents and two siblings were living with her maternal grandfather, James Drew in Westerham, Kent, England. Her grandfather was a lime burner and her father was an agricultural laborer.[2]
At age 5 she emigrated with her family to New Zealand, departing England on 6 May 1874 on the Adamant. They arrived in Nelson, New Zealand on 13 Aug 1874.[3]
At age 19 Clara married Robert Alexander Davidson in 1888 in New Zealand.[4]
She died on 2 Dec 1936 in Nelson, New Zealand.[5][6]
Her husband Robert died on 6 Oct 1938 in New Zealand.[7]
