She was born as Jane Friend. In 1793 her father assumed, by sign manual, the surname of Robinson. So she became Miss Jane Robinson.
On 2 Aug 1825 she was married to George Powney, a widower, at St. George, Hanover Square[2]
She died on 31 Aug 1860 at Alverstoke. She was buried on 8 Sep 1860 at Old Windsor, Berkshire.
