Lake Benton News Mrs. J S Worden died June 3 at 1:45 a.m. following an illness of ten years, at the age of 61 years, 3 months and six days. The funeral services were held on Saturday, June 5, at the home, 811 Eleventh Avenue at 1:45 and at the Baptist church at 2 p.m. Burial was made in Memorial Hill, Lake Benton, Minn. The Rev. C E Tulga officiated.

Christine Friis was born in Germany February 27, 1876. When she was three years of age, her family moved to the United States and settled in Iowa where her early youth was spent. At the age of 16 she moved with her family to Lake Benton, Minn., where lived until 1909. She was united in marriage to James S Worden on June 13, 1900, and they made their home in Lake Benton until 1909 when they moved to Brookings, where they have resided since.

She is survived by her husband; daughters Viola of Brookings and Alta of Honolulu, Hawaii; and son Glenn of Valley City, ND. She is also survived by her father, Andrew Friis of Lake Benton; a sister, Mrs. Iver Holdt of Lake Benton; a brother, Hans Friis of Miami, Fla. All of the survivors, except Hans Friis, attended the funeral.

Mrs. Worden was a quiet, devoted and loving wife, mother and homemaker. She had been a member of the Baptist church since youth and lived a life in keeping with her Christian faith.

Out of town relatives attending the funeral service were Andrew Friis, Mr. and Mrs. Iver Holdt and son Clyde, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Berger, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Henry Berger, Jr., Mrs. Nels Hansen, Mrs. Etta Kimball, Miss Edna Berger and Mrs. Shardin of Lake Benton; Mrs. Lester Ruffridge of Minneapolis; Mr. and Mrs. W H Worden of Park Rapids, MN; Mrs. Catherine Christensen, Mr. and Mrs. S C Stefansen, Mrs. Peter Sorensen and Erling Jensen of Tyler, MN.
