Firth-6 and Frith-442 do not represent the same person because: removing unmerged match to complete merge
posted by Scott McClain
Based on the comments posted to the other affected profiles, it appears that this profile is a duplicate of both Thrift-571 and Frith-442, and that the proper LNAB is Frith, with "Thrift" as an alternative spelling. Therefore I plan to merge Firth-6 and Thrift-571 into Frith-442 to clean this up. If anyone objects, speak up now. If no one objects in the next couple of days, I will take care of it.

Thrift-571 and Frith-442 appear to represent the same person because: likely the same person. In early records, he appears as Frith.
I agree. I just added PPP to this profile to protect the LNAB while we complete these clean up merges.

If anyone disagrees with the proposal to merge Firth-6 and Thrift-571 into Frith-442, speak up now. If no one objects in the next couple of days, I will take care of it.

What is the basis for the last name of Firth? Both this profile and Nathaniel (Thrift) Frith (abt.1620-bef.1679), subject of the pending merge proposal, are based on the same will. In the Sweeney transcription, his last name is spelled "Frith" -- is it different in some other source? This profile uses Firth, and the apparent duplicate uses Thrift.

These are definitely the same person. I have not seen the name spelled as Firth, but it definitely was spelled both Frith and Thrift (until he died, then you only saw it in records as Thrift). I think the LNAB should be changed to Frith.

Just came across another likely duplicate: Frith-442. Since it's got the 'Frith' spelling, I recommend that the other two profiles be merged into it.

Thrift-571 and Firth-6 appear to represent the same person because: Appear to be duplicates. Firth is the surname on the records.

Firth-6 and Thrift-571 are not ready to be merged because: Multiple duplicates exist. Need to coordinate merges to preserve correct LNAB.

Given the comment at the top of the profile about the presence of multiple people by the same name in the region, it seems like this profile would benefit from project protection. This requires co-management by a project. Profile managers, please add wikitreesoutherncolonies @ googlegroups . com (without the spaces) as a co-profile manager. Then I will ask a project Leader to add PPP. Many thanks!
