In the 1857 census, Konrad Fritzler is the head of the household and his brother Johann Friedrich and his family lives in the same household as Konrad and his family. At the end of the list of family members, there is a nephew, Friedrich Fritzler, age 21, designated as a "nephew by an unnamed brother." There were only three brothers in Konrad Fritzler's family:

• Johann Konrad
• Johann Friedrich
• Jakob Alexander

Since both Johann Konrad and Johann Friedrich and their families are specifically listed in the same census entry, the "nephew by an unnamed brother" must be the son of the third brother, Jakob Alexander Fritzler.

Jakob Alexander is not listed in the same household with his brothers, and I'm not sure yet if he is in the 1857 Grimm census at all. While he may have had the child out of wedlock, the census usually reports those children as illegitimate. The fact that that description is omitted leads me to believe that Jakob Alexander and his wife probably passed away and their son Friedrich was raised by the boy's uncle.
