He was a revolutionary war soldier, Stationed on the continental line. His rank was listed as a Private. [15][17]
1769 emigrated from Augusta Co., VA, to Rowan County, NC, to Upper Cassell's Woods. (Russell Co. Order Book 2, page 56).
In 1776 he was one of the appraisers of the estates of Isaac Crisman and Samuel Cowan, both of whom were slain by the Indians, (Washington Co. Court Records),
June 30, 1777.. He was serving as a soldier in the defense of Moore's Fort on (Draper Mss I XX 20, 24).
1780 Frederick Fraley moved to Lower Castle Wood and acquired 900 acres, more or less, all, or most of which he was in possession of at the time of his death in late 1792 or early 1793, as evidenced by his wife, Chloe Fraley being granted administration of his estate. (Russell, Law Order Book 2, p. 56, 70, and Will Book 4-A, p. 103). [16]
