Lorenzo, son of William Froman and Mary Sherard, was born about 26 February 1863 in Hardin Township, Clinton County, Missouri.[citation needed] He was named after his paternal grandfather—Lorenzo Jacob Froman.
In 1870, seven-year-old Lorenzo resided on the farm (valued at $500 or about $227,500 in 2021)[1] in Hardin Township that was owned by his parents William G. (31) and Mary Froman (25).[2] The household also included his siblings George William (6), John Marion (4) and Elmer Ellsworth Froman (2).[2] All were shown as born in Missouri.[2] Their next door neighbor is his grandfather Lorenzo Jacob Froman.[2]
Lorenzo was the only one of his siblings that continued his education beyond grammar school.[3] In 1880, the seventeen-year-old was still a student, while his brothers G. W. (age 15), J. M. (14) and Elmer (12) worked on the family farm in Hardin Township.[3] His youngest brother, Eugene Froman (7), remained at home with their parents William G. (41, farmer) and Mary Froman (36).[3]
Nothing further is known about Lorenzo.
