Biography

Abigail, married Joshua Fryer by January 1691 when she was named in her father's will as Abigail Fryer.[1][2] They resided in Kittery, Maine.[3] [4]

Abigail married as her second husband William Moody. On 9 December 1714, a prenuptial agreement was made, a marriage shortly to be solemnized, between William Moody gentleman of Newbury, Essex County, and Abigail Fryer widow of Berwick, York County, with witnesses Stephen Sewall of Salem and Jeremiah Wise of Berwick, where William was to receive £100 of her estate and she to retain the remainder of her own estate and that of her former husband, Joshua Fryer.[5] Intentions were published in Newbury on 11 December 1714,[6] and they were married on 30 December 1714 in Berwick.[7]

Abigal Moodey, wife of Mr William Moodey of Newbury, made her will on 20 May 1721, proved 27 June 1723. She made bequests to her brothers Charles and John Frost and to each of their daughters named Abigail; her sisters Mehetebel Peirce, Lydia Greenleef and Mary Hill; "cousins" Mary Wise wife of Jeremiah of Barwick (Berwick), and Hannah Wainwright wife of Capt. John Wainwright of Haverhill and her daughter Abigail Wainwirght. "Brothers" Thomas Pearce and John Greenleef to be executors. Witnesses were John Dummer, Mary Peirce and Deborah Goodridg.[5]

Based on Abigail's will, she had no surviving children from either of her marriages.

Deacon William Moody died on 06 February 1729/30 in Byfield parish, Newbury.[8]
