Biography

David was a son of John Frost and Phebe Tillear. He was born on 3 June 1743 at Oyster Bay, then Queens County, New York.

In the American Revolutionary War, David was a Private in New York State. He served under Luddington in Mead's Company and is also listed under Lieutenant-Colonel Reuben Ferriss's Seventh Regiment.

David and Sarah lived most of their lives in Carmel, NY but moved to Pleasant Valley, NY to spend their last years with their son Jacob. David was a blacksmith, probably learning the trade from his step-father, Thomas Thorne.

David signed his will on 7 December 1818. It was proven on 15 May 1826 in Dutchess County and is on file at Poughkeepsie.

He died on 5 May 1826 and is buried in the Baptist Cemetery, Salt Point, Dutchess County, New York, with his wife Sarah.
