Biography

Susanne was baptized 3 June 1809 at the age of 5 months at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas, Louisiana.^[1], giving an estimated date of birth as 3 February. This is the date that The Fruge's of Fakaitaic uses.^[2]

She married Joseph Istre, the son of Joseph Istre & his first wife Magdelaine Jeannot on 22 May 1826 at the same church they both were baptized at in Opelousas.^[3]

The September 1827 succession that mentions her and Joseph^[4] must be hers since we know he remarries in 1829.

They had one daughter named Susanne and born 18 May 1827.^[5] The daughter went on to marry Edward Cortine or Quartine^[6]The daughter went on to marry an Edward Cortine or Quartine^[7] on 10 February 1845, obtaining a marriage license at Lafayette Court House.^[8]
