Biography
Isabella was born in 1871. Isabella Frye ... She passed away in 1912.[1] Original Choctaw Enrollee #3959
Belle was adopted by John P. Turnbull and his wife Harriet Willard. Belle was given up for adoption at an early age; it occurred at a big camp meeting at Goodland church when Mrs. Turnbull saw the child and asked to adopt her. Belle's biological parents were William and Elizabeth Rector of Jackson County, I.T. (see Dawes Choctaw enrollment card #1426). William Frye was remembered as a full-blood Choctaw. Elizabeth Frye later remarried; she was enrolled as Elizabeth Rector Durant, 1/2 Choctaw (Roll #10109); died July 1915.
