DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Maria Magdalena by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Maria Magdalena:
Fuchs-1273 and Fuchs-101 appear to represent the same person because: These 2 bios have the same name, same parents, and same husband. Some information is different, however, there is enough evidence for me to believe they are the same. But someone will need to clean up the bio because the bios of both profiles are a mess.
I found a very interesting book entry. If this Maria Magdalena Fuchs is the person who arrived in America in 1741 with her father Johann Peter Fuchs and her mother Anna Margarethe, then this might be very pertinent to this family.
Found in book “New World Immigrants: A consolidation of Ship Passenger Lists and Associated…Vol 1:
FUCHS, JOHANN PETER - hired man on the Klosterhof, married Anna Margarethe.
Q: Is “Margarethe” her last name per chance?
Children, born in Staudernheim:
1. Elisabeth Katharina Fuchs, baptized March 31, 1730 (anno 1741 Americana facta).
2. Maria Magdalena Fuchs, baptized March 16, 1732 (anno 1741 Americana facta).
3. Maria Margarethe Fuchs, baptized February 28, 1734 (anno 1741 Americana facta).
4. Johann Nikolaus Fuchs, baptized May 16, 1736 (anno 1741 Americanus factus).
5. Anna Katharina Fuchs, baptized September 28, 1738 (anno 1741 Americana facta).
6. Johann Jacob Fuchs, baptized July 22, 1740 (anno 1741 Americanus factus).
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS LISTING OF THE PARENTS AND CHILDREN EXACTLY MATCHES THE ARRIVAL RECORD OF 1741.
This would indicate she was born sometime around 1732 and not 1720 and in Staudernheim.
I did a complete review of the 15xx records of births and christenings in 1735 plus/minus 10 years in Ancestry for all locations...and found no meaningful records of these baptisms.
I did some research on the area but no firm conclusions. I found marriage records from 1725:
1) Marriage: Anna Margaretha Spenglerin
in the Rhineland, Germany, Lutheran Baptisms, Marriages, and Burials, 1533-1950
16. Jan 1725 (16 Jan 1725) Burgsponheim, Kreuznach, Rheinland (Rhineland-Palatinate), Preußen
Spouse: Johann Peter Fuchs
2) Anna Margretha Spenglerin in the Germany, Select Marriages, 1558-1929
Spouse: Johann Peter Fuchs
I am still researching and have not drawn any firm conclusions from this, but wanted to share these records found. Project Managers - I would love to hear your thoughts.
Fuchs-101 and Fuchs-1207 appear to represent the same person because: They both represent the wife of John Jacob Graves. Some of the information on the Fuchs-1207 profile appears to be incorrect.
