Biography

Note: Because of the gap between his two oldest children and his next born child, he may have been married more than once. This could mean that he was married in Russia, where his two oldest children were born. I will continue to check immigration records to see if I can confirm this.

Research Notes

These naturalization records appear to be for a different Nathan Henry Fox born in the same year as the Nathan Henry Fox of this record. The man below became a doctor and lived in Chicago, Illinois at times when we know the man of this profile was living in Racine, Wisconsin. One reason for the confusion is that his age is incorrect in the 1920 census, making him appear 10 years younger than he really was. The Nathan Henry Fox below was 10 years younger, born about the same month.

A look at his citizenship declaration shows he was from Kaselitz, Russia. This is not really a town, and the correct name of the town is probably Korelitz, in Minsk, Russia. If he was actually a Volga German, he may have been from Kautz. The name Fuchs was a very popular Volga German name. A copy of his citizenship declaration is attached to this profile.
