Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 3, 1992 at Penn & A Street Church of Christ, with Gary Henson officiating. Burial followed at the Fugate Family Cemetery, under the direction of Atoka Funeral Home. Pallbearers were: John Fugate, Jack Deborde, Gary Fugate, Terry Fugate, Russell Fugate and Shelby Don Fugate. Honorary pallbearers were: Richard Garton, George Lowe, James W. Fincher, Art Kennedy, Earnest Walthall, Charles H. Self Jr. and Glen Mitchell. Mrs. Fugate was born September 6, 1903 at Buckhill Redden, Indian Territory, the daughter of James Washington and Lula Alice Wade Armstrong. She was retired from the Fugate Sawmills and was a grocery store owner. She married Reuel Ewin Fugate on February 17, 1921 in Atoka in the home of James and Margo Cole. Her father, J.W. Armstrong, a Church of Christ Minister, officiated. Her husband preceded her in death. She was a member of the Penn and A Street Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Donald Reuel Fugate and wife Alma Jones of the Fugate community and Ralph Dwight Fugate and wife Anna Jurkow of Stringtown; three daughters, Wanda Geneva DeBorde and husband Wilbur of Era, Texas, Wilma Loucille Magby and husband Jackie Dee of the Fugate community and Fayla Winona Mitchell of Hominy; one daughter-in-law, Mary Ellen Robinson Fugate, of the home, 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Dates and burial sites of other family members who preceded her in death are her husband Reuel Ewin Fugate, June 21, 1980, Fugate Cemetery; a son, Edwin Dale Fugate, December 26, 1991, Mt. Olive Cemetery; her father, James Washington Armstrong, May 16, 1927, Slaton, Texas; her mother, Lula Alice Wade Armstrong, March 30, 1953, Armstrong Cemetery; two grandchildren, Bob Allen, August 21, 1949, Highland Cemetery, Durant and Joe Dee Fugate, November 18, 1973, Fugate Cemetery; two sisters, Jessie Arrella Fincher, August 7, 1950, Armstrong Cemetery, and Ava Murl Wasson Smith, February 22, 1922, Armstrong Cemetery; and four brothers, Thomas Washington Armstrong, July 16, 1972, Mt.
