Jerry Lee Fugate passed away peacefully at his home in Lake Jackson, TX on Friday, November 1, 2013 at the age of 76. He was born in Oklahoma City, OK on April 17, 1937 to the late Sylvester and Minnie Fugate.
Jerry enjoyed promoting and attending BBQ and Chili cook-offs throughout Texas. He loved sitting in a lounge chair on the beach and enjoyed family beach and ski vacations. “Life has been good! I have met and enjoyed people of all walks of life.”
Jerry is survived by his daughter: Cherry (Kevin Lange) of Lake Jackson, step-daughters: Sharla (Chet Schwartz) of Thorndale and Penny (Philip Brant) of Pflugerville, grandchildren: Jordan, Sydney and Carson Lange, Barton Payne, Marla and Lee Schwartz, Derek and wife Elice Klepac, McKenzie, Mason and Marshall Decker, great-grandchildren: Jared Payne and Elle Schwartz, sisters: Judy (Willie Benningfield) and Sandy (Lee Martinez) and many nieces and nephews.
Jerry is preceded in death by his wife, June Dale Fugate of 29 years, sister Charlene Lyles and brothers Joe, Clyde and Vic Fugate.
A Memorial Visitation will be held at Providence Funeral Home at 807 Carlos G. Parker Blvd. in Taylor, TX on Saturday, November 23 from 4-6 pm.
