Biography

According to the St. John's Parish records, Peter was a son of James Fugate, born 1676 and his wife Ann.

Most of James & Ann's children are listed in the Parish records. Copies of the Register entries are attached.
This page of entries for James & Ann Ward give 4 different dates of birth for the same children??????? Like, Edward, born 1721 and then another son named Edward Aug 10 1734, so it appears like many families, they lost a baby and then years later named a son after him.
OR the Registrar has made a mistake??????
Unfortunately no one seems to know Ann's maiden name..............

This area was Baltimore Co. before Harford Co. was formed, and is the area where the earliest Fugates were located.

Because of the names of his son, and the location and time, we assume that James must have been a son of Peter of Baltimore Co. MD, the immigrant. However, Peter's only known wife was Frances Mould, and from records of her family, we know that she was not enough older than James to have been his mother, so James' parents are not completely known.Peter was probably his father, but we don't have an earlier wife for Peter.

I hope this helps you.For more complete information...

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with James by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with James:
