Biography

Elizabeth was the daughter of Sir John Fulford and Dorothy Bourchier.[1]

She married 1st Humphry Arundell and 2nd Thomas Cary.[1]

Monumental Inscriptions:[2]

Round the margin of a flat tombstone late in the floor of the chancel, but now in the south aisle of the church of St. Giles-in-the-Heath, Devon:

Here Lyeth Elizabet Cary, the wyeff of Thomas Cary Squire, daughter of Sir John Fulford, Knig., who dyed the xxiiii day of November, the yr. of our Lord God 1565.

In the centre of the same stone:

And the said Thomas Cary died the last day of June Ao D'ni 1583 and lieth buried in the Cathedral Church of Sanit Peter's within the City of Exon

On a gravestone in the nave of Exeter Cathedral:

Here lyeth M. Thomas Cary, latte of St. Giles in Deuen, who dyed the last day of June, 1583.
