Biography

Ebenezer Fuller was born about 1822, perhaps 18 Sept 1821 (based on age at death), in Halifax, Plymouth, Massachusetts to parents Capt. Ebenezer Fuller and Abigail Sampson. His name sometimes appears as Ebenezer Fuller, Jr. His birth does not appear in Vital records of the town of Halifax, Massachusetts, to the end of the year 1849 and no baptism has been located for him yet.

He married as his first wife Mary Ann Coldwell (also written in records as Colwell and Caldwell), daughter of Ebenezer Coldwell and Elizabeth Bosworth.[1][2][3] They had the following children:

  • Nelson H. Fuller, born 1843
  • Frederick E. Fuller, born 1846
  • Charlotte (Lotty) A. Fuller, born 1850
  • Eben. Francis (Frank) Fuller, born 1851~1853
  • Elberts E. Fuller, born 1855

He married as his second wife Sarah L. (Fisher) Copp, daughter of Micajah Fisher and Alice Bowen, on 6 Jun 1897.[4]

Ebenezer's occupation was farmer from 1850 to at least 1865, while he resided in Halifax. His occupation was carpenter in 1870, shoe cutter in 1880, and peddler in 1900, while he resided in Brockton. He died 5 May 1910 in Brockton, Plymouth, Massachusetts, and is buried at Thomson Cemetery, Halifax, Plymouth, Massachusetts, United States.[5][6] Ebenezer's obituary states that he was the oldest member of the Massachusetts Grand Lodge IOGT. and of Porter Congregational Church. No probate was filed in Plymouth County after his death, however his wife Mary Ann's Will was probate after her death in 1891.[7]
