Nathan was born in 1790. He passed away in 1880. Nathan was the 6th child of David Funderburk and Catherine Rape Funderburk. He was married 3 times - to Elizabeth McGarr, Rebecca Hargett, and a widow, Mary Elizabeth Moser. Between the 3 wives he had 12 children.
