Rachael Funderburk married George McManus about 1845 and had two children by him: Michel E. b1846 whose marker attests to her parents names and probably Samuel J., b1849 determined by association of time and place in census and other records,
George died between 1850 and 1860 and Rachel married his first cousin William "Billie" McManus, widower of Sarah Heglar. By Rachael, William and she had a son Amos L. born 32 Mar 1864 according to the International Genealogical Index. This entry has not been relocated since first seen. Amos L. was also recorded in the household of Umpstead Rencher in a later census, relationship unknown. This boy has not been clearly identified.
Rachael was the administrator of Billie's 1873 Will. She lived another 27 years after William's death. The Lancaster Ledger recorded her obituary:
Mrs. Rachel McManus aged about 75 years widow of the late Wm. McManus, died at Rock Hill and her remains were brought to this place and taken to Spring Hill Baptist church of which she had long been a member, for interment on Saturday last.[2]
Records of her daughter by George, Michel E. "Betsy" proves the relationships.
