Biography

In 1885, the Henry and Rosa Furlong family were living at 811 Court Avenue in Des Moines.[1] Henry was a boilermaker. The household included Henry and Rosa, as well as their children Alice, Gertie, Harry, James, and Willie.

The Furlongs were living in Lee Township, in Des Moines, Iowa in 1895.[2] Henry was working as a boilermaker, and the entire family was Catholic. The household included Henry and Rosa, as well as their children Alice, Gertie, Harry, James, Statia, John, and Joseph.

James owned Furlong Boilerworks in 400, E. Court, Des Moines[3] and was a stationary engineer.[4]

Living at 1454 E14th DSM, IA for WWI draft.[3] Medium height, medium build, brown eyes, brown hair.

He was living at 1426 E 9th in Des Moines when he registered for the World War II draft.[5] The Boilerworks had moved to 110 Clark St in Des Moines. He is described as 5 ft 5 in, a light complexion, 135 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes, and at some point had broken his left shoulder. His closest kin is listed as his daughter, Alice Church.

James is buried in Glendale Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa, USA.[6]
