Biography

Lettice Furlong 1769 Talbenny

Lettice was baptised in 1769 at Talbenny parish church the daughter of Peter and Elizabeth Furlong. As yet I have not found much on Lettice. But there is a marriage to a Richard Lewis in 1803 at St Thomas parish church in Haverfordwest Pembs. If this is our Lettice she would have been aged 34 years old at the time. The only Lettice Lewis I have found is on the 1841 census at St Brides. But the age does not fit, according to the census her age is 63 putting her date of birth as 1778, some nine years out. Which is not too far out, but 1841 census rounded the age up or down to the nearest five years. So in that sense it’s quite close. But more proof is needed before we can claim this Lettice as ours.
