Charles Furman held the Fish lands until his death since the courts in Florida ruled in 1825 that the Spanish grant was, indeed, legal. Venancio Sanchez, his brother in law, was his agent in St. Augustine.
Will of Charles directs that annuities and other Fish legacies from the estate go to his sisters Marie and Ann, to a nephew Charles and another nephew Richard K Furman and grand-nephews Irvine Furman and Bolivar Furman.
