In 1850, Zara lived with his parents and siblings, Julia, Silas and Silas' wife, Ann, in Sardinia, Erie, New York. His father was a farmer. [1]
Zara married Louisa Maria Gould in about 1854. Their first child, Sarah, was born in 1855, and they were residents of Sardinia, Erie, New York. Zara's household included his parents, Ebenezer and Nancy Furman. [2]
In 1860, Zara and Louisa and their two children, Sarah and Bela, were living in Sardinia where Zara was a farmer. Included in their household were his mother, Nancy, age 73 and now a widow, and his niece, Nancy, his brother Chancy's daughter. Chancy died in 1856. [3]
By 1865, Zara and Louisa had four children. They continued to live in Sardinia with his mother, Nancy. [4]
By 1870, Zara and Louisa's family had grown to six children - Sarah, Bela, Elmore, Ira, Effie, and Elsie, ranging in age from 15 to 1. They moved from Sardinia and now were residents of Colden, Erie, New York. [5]
Zara died July 8, 1874 and was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, East Concord, Erie, New York. [6]
