Biography
Victor E. Furman was born on May 10, 1900 in Sardinia, Erie, New York to Clifford Furman and Margaret Fitzpatrick. In 1905, he lived in Sardinia with his parents and two older siblings, Edwin and Agnes. His father was a farmer. [1]
10-year-old Victor lived with his mother, Margaret, in Concord, Erie, New York in 1910. [2][3]
Victor registered for the United States World War I military draft on September 12, 1918 in Collins, Erie, New York. His permanent address was Springville, Erie, New York. He worked for his father on the family farm. He was described as tall and slender, with blue eyes and dark hair. [4]
In 1920, Victor studied chemistry at the University of Buffalo. [5] He lived with his parents in Concord. [6]
Victor married Mary Zitzer in October 1923. [7] In 1930, they lived with his mother-in-law, Mary, and sister-in-law, Anna, a teacher, in Buffalo, Erie, New York. Victor was employed as a chemist for the Bureau of Water. [8]
Mary died in 1948. Victor's second wife was Myra Kranichfield.
Victor died in June 1967 in Buffalo, Erie, New York. [9] He was buried in the Catholic Cemetery, Sardinia, Erie, New York. His gravestone reads, "Here lies a consecrated Christian." [10]
