Also in the residence were the hotel staff, Swain Cartson, aged 23 a barman born in Sweden, Andus Hanson, aged 21, a billiard marker from Sweden, Christopher Wilson aged 23, a groom from Yarm, Elizabeth Charlton aged 21, a barmaid from Consett, and Elizabeth Seth, aged 22 a cook from Durham.
In 1891, Wilson was a widower still living in the Sadlers Hotel. His daughters were not there with him. He had 4 servants, Nelly Prudhoe, 29, housekeeper, Selenia E Dowson, 26, a barmaid from Yorkshire, William Snowdon, 27, a barman from London, and Kate Toker, 21 a general servant.
