Thomas Futrell performed Patriotic Service in North Carolina in the American Revolution.

Thomas Futrell is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A042801.

Thomas was born about 1745.

Thomas Futrell grew up about one-and-a-half miles NW of Potecasi in Northampton County, North Carolina, where his father, John Futrell, ran a gristmill on Paddy's Delight Creek. Thomas rendered material aid to the American troops during the Revolutionary War; his support has been recognized by both the DAR & SAR.

Thomas Futrell's widow, Sarah, and their children settled on Donaldson Creek in Christian County, Kentucky, beginning in 1803. [1]

Thomas passed away about 1796.[2]

The Will of Thomas Futrell Will Written 22 OCT 1796 Probated: 1 JUL 1797

In the name of God, Amen, I Thomas Futrell of Northampton County, being of sound and prefect mind and memory, belefted by to God, do this Twenty-second day of October, n the year of our Lord, one thousand seven hundred and nnety six, do make and publish this my last will and testament in the manner following, that is to say first, I reccommend my soul to God, who prepareth it.

Item 1: I give to my beloved son Shadrach Futrell, one negro girl, Venie, to him and his heirs forever.
Item 2: I lend my plantation whereon I now live, to my beloved wife, Sarah Futrell, during her life. Also one negro girl, Silve, during her natural life, and after her death, my plantation I give to my beloved son Thomas Futrell, and his heirs forever.
Item 3: I give to my son Thomas Futrell, one negro boy, Abram, to him and his heirs forever.
Item 4: I give to my beloved son John Futrell, a tract of land, containing one hundred acres, that I bought of Jack Futrel, to him and his heirs forever. Also, one negro girl, named Jane, to him the said John Futrell, and his heirs forever.
Item 5: I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter, Charity Futrel, one bed and bedstead, and one chest, to her and her heirs forever.
Item 6: I give to my daughter Faithy Futrel, one bed and bedstead, to her and her heirs forever.

And all the remainder of my estate, which I have not given away to be sold and equally divided between daughters Barshaba Colson, Patsy Sumner, Charity Futrel, Faithy Futrel, Amey Futrel, Rebekah Futrel, and Elizabeth Futrel, and Clarissa Futrel, to them and their heirs forever. Alas, I give to my daughter Barshaba Colson 60 fir Silver Dollars, also I give to my youngest daughter, Clarissa Futrel, twenty pounds Virginia money. Also, I give to youngest son Thomas Futrel, twenty pound Virginia money in cash, exclusive of what, and at the death of beloved wife the negro woman Slive, to be sold and equally divided amongst all my children. I do hereby ordain and appoint my son Shadrach Futrell, my executor of this last will and testament, in witness whereof I said Thomas Futrel, have here-unto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and date above written.
