My Grandma Rebecca Fyffe was born 1871 on the family farm in Archill Townland, Parish of Ardstraw, County Tyrone, Ireland. In 1893 she married William Thompson, also of Archill, at the nearby Drumlegagh Presbyterian Church. At some stage they purchased farmland on Shaneragh Townland, near Dromore, where they built a home on Skreen Road and farmed for the rest of their lives. Upon retirement, their son, also named William, and his family took over the Shaneragh farm, and Rebeccah and her husband lived in 'Rose Cottage' on nearby Cavan Townland, where, during WW2, they raised my sister. Rebecca, a loving, kind, gentle sincere Christian lady, died 20 January 1951 in her sister's home, Market Street, Antrim, County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
