Dear Cousins, We have enjoyed searching and researching, writing letters and making telephone calls in order to get the material for this book. We thank each one who so generously gave of his or her time and energy to help us gather the information. Our special thanks to Eldon and Margaret Lansford of Chattanooga, Tn. who, although not Smith cousins, did a tremendous amount of research at the Chattanooga Library and made numerous telephone calls in Chattanooga to gather information for us.
