Biography
Robert was baptised on 9 December 1809 in Owston. He was the son of Robert Gabites and Mary Fletcher. The Gabites family lived in Owston Ferry[1].
Robert married Mary Platts at St Sepulchre's in London on 1 January 1837[2]. Their first child, Robert, was born in 1838 and baptised at Clerkenwell, London at the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel in City Road.
The family moved back to Owston, where Robert worked as a Draper, Grocer and Master Painter[3]

Mary passed away in Owston Ferry on 22 December 1856[4] and Robert married Jane Waterhouse in 1858[5]
In 1861, Robert, Jane and their children lived in North Street in Owston, Lincolnshire. He was a Master Painter and Plumber[6].
